Atlanta is set to become a hotspot for cultural celebration with the first-ever HBCU AWAREFEST, an exciting partnership between Live Nation Urban (LNU) and the Student Freedom Initiative (SFI). This weeklong festival, scheduled from March 21 to March 26, promises an engaging mix of concerts, panel discussions, business fairs, health and wellness activities, and an abundance of food trucks, attracting both students and the general public alike. The event’s kickoff will feature the 2026 HBCU Impact Fest at the Robert W. The highlights of AWAREFEST include notable panels addressing issues such as financial literacy and health. For instance, attendees will participate in “Building Wisdom, Not Debt: A Real Conversation About Money,” featuring influential figures like MC Lyte and Dr. Lynn Richardson. Another panel, “Health is Wealth: Protecting Your Power, Your Joy, & Your Future,” will see rapper Saucy Santana join the discussion moderated by TS Madison. These discussions aim to empower students with knowledge and resources that can help them navigate the complexities of financial planning and personal well-being in today’s world.

The festivities will continue on March 24 with a comedy fundraising event at The Tabernacle, featuring the talented Deon Cole and hosted by the hilarious Chris Spencer. This night of laughter is sure to draw attendees eager to enjoy humor while supporting a crucial cause. The following day, the "State of HBCUs Executive Summit" dives deeper into the future of Black higher education. Moderated by news commentator Roland Martin, the summit will address essential topics surrounding student loan debt and institutional competitiveness, making it a must-attend event for those invested in the future of historically Black colleges and universities.

For those eager to experience a glamorous evening, March 25 also brings the “All in for HBCUs: A Casino Royale Fundraiser,” hosted by Emmy-nominated actor Anthony Anderson and Emmy-winning host Rocsi Diaz. This event takes place at the luxurious Hotel Phoenix and promises a night filled with casino fun, gourmet food, and premium cocktails. Special appearances by sports legend Magic Johnson and a live performance by Wyclef Jean elevate the festivities, allowing attendees to engage with icons while contributing to a worthy cause.

As AWAREFEST unfolds, it also emphasizes philanthropy and wealth-building within the Black community. Billionaire philanthropist Robert F. Smith will participate in a fireside chat at State Farm Arena, offering insights into responsible giving alongside industry leaders like Daymond John and Chris Womack. This intimate conversation, moderated by CNBC reporter Frank Holland, will allow attendees to learn from successful philanthropists whose efforts have shaped society.
