One of Sarasota’s most anticipated events, the Thunder by the Bay Music & Motors Festival, is gearing up for its 28th annual celebration, scheduled for February 13-15 at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. This vibrant festival is not only a musical extravaganza but also serves as a crucial fundraiser for Suncoast Charities for Children, an organization dedicated to supporting local nonprofits that provide vital services to children, teens, and adults with special needs and their families. Executive Director Lucy Nicandri expressed excitement about the festival’s legacy, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone for community spirit and entertainment for nearly three decades.

This year’s lineup promises to draw music lovers and festival-goers with a variety of talent. Headlining the event are iconic rock band Night Ranger, known for their catchy power ballad “Sister Christian,” which gained fame not only for its chart-topping success in 1984 but also for its inclusion in the cult classic film "Boogie Nights." Also on stage will be 38 Special, a beloved Southern rock band famous for anthems like “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up in You.” Fans of country music will be delighted by the return of Montgomery Gentry, featuring Eddie Montgomery. The band continues to honor the memory of its late member, Troy Gentry, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 2017.

In an exciting twist for attendees, the festival will broaden its offerings with the inclusion of automotive attractions alongside its traditional motorcycle focus. The event's new name, Thunder by the Bay Music & Motors Festival, reflects this slightly revamped concept. Guests can look forward to not only the beloved motorcycle rodeo and bike show but also an exhilarating car show and a charity dice run featuring both motorcycles and cars. The expanded focus aims to attract a wider audience and create a richer experience for all attendees.

The festival will cater to diverse preferences with various ticketing options available starting October 1. General admission tickets are priced from $15, while those seeking a closer connection to the action can opt for limited Party Pit passes that place them near the main stage. For an elevated experience, VIP tickets will offer premium seating and exclusive perks, ensuring fans enjoy the festival in comfort and style. Additionally, onsite camping will be available for those wanting to immerse themselves fully in the festival atmosphere over the weekend.

For those who are eager to dive into the festival vibe before February, Suncoast Charities for Children is organizing a special charity concert on Saturday, September 13, at the Sarasota Sahib Shrine Event Center. The concert will feature Diary of an Ozzman, a tribute act celebrating the legacy of the metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away earlier this year. This event will serve as a prelude to the Thunder by the Bay festival, providing another opportunity for the community to come together to support a good cause while enjoying electrifying performances.

With its blend of acclaimed music acts, engaging entertainment, and community spirit, Thunder by the Bay Music & Motors Festival is set to be an unforgettable event. As it continues its objective to support and uplift local charities, the festival stands as a celebration of not only music and motors but also the resilience and camaraderie of the community. Festival-goers can prepare for a weekend filled with high-energy performances, meaningful connections, and vibrant celebrations that embody the heart and soul of Sarasota.

In the glamorous world of celebrities and music, the festival shines brightly as a platform for both established and emerging artists to showcase their talents. It stands out as a testament to how music can unite people for a common purpose—supporting those in need. As February approaches, excitement will surely build, making the Thunder by the Bay Music & Motors Festival an event that individuals and families won't want to miss. For those interested in more information regarding the event or upcoming concerts, they can explore details through the Suncoast Charities for Children’s official website.
