Indulge in a Lavish Culinary Adventure on Britain’s Most Glamorous Train Journey, Featuring Celebrity Chef Brian Clark and Enchanting Entertainment

In the world of luxury travel, few experiences rival a journey aboard the Northern Belle, Britain’s ‘poshest’ train. Set to embark from Shropshire next month, this train promises a dining experience that elevates train travel to an art form. Known for its elegant 1930s Pullman-style interiors and historic ties to the Orient Express, the Northern Belle is not just a means of transportation but a gastronomic journey that has attracted the attention of celebrities and discerning travelers alike.

Brian Clark, the newly appointed director of food and beverages, brings a wealth of culinary expertise to this unique dining experience. His impressive resume includes serving meals to high-profile figures like Madonna, Rod Stewart, and even the British royal family. Under Clark's guidance, travelers can expect a lavish six-course dinner, thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable ambiance during the scenic voyage along the breathtaking Settle-Carlisle line. Commencing on April 19, the journey begins with a luxurious serving of caviar and culminates with Northern Belle’s award-winning Great British Cheese Board, all complemented by a selection of fine wines and champagne.

This extraordinary experience transcends mere dining; the train will be alive with entertainment. Guests will enjoy live performances from onboard musicians, adding a melodious backdrop to the exquisite meal. As if that weren’t enough, a conjuror will weave through the dining cars, enchanting guests with his magic, making every moment on the train feel truly special. A spokesperson for Northern Belle remarked that the train will be drawn by the Tangmere, a historic steam locomotive once famous for hauling express services like the Atlantic Coast Express. This nostalgic touch adds to the charm of the entire venture, promising passengers an immersive experience as they glide through some of Britain’s most picturesque landscapes.

The Northern Belle experience begins with a red carpet welcome at Telford Central, setting the tone for a journey steeped in elegance and sophistication. Passengers can board as early as 7:35 am on April 12, followed by additional pick-ups from Shrewsbury, Wrexham General, and Chester. As they settle into their plush surroundings, a three-course champagne brunch awaits during the outward leg of their journey toward Carlisle. Here, travelers have a chance to stretch their legs and explore the historic medieval castle or the stunning 12th-century Norman cathedral before continuing their culinary adventure.

As the day unfolds, a champagne reception awaits as passengers transition from day to night, during which dinner will be served while the train meanders back south towards Settle. The highlight of this leg of the journey is the crossing of the Ribblehead Viaduct, an iconic structure that stands as a symbol of Britain's rich railway history. This journey culminates in a return to Telford at 9:40 pm and Shrewsbury by 10:00 pm, leaving guests with unforgettable memories of an extraordinary day.

For those who may miss the chance to travel in April, the Northern Belle has plans for two additional steam-hauled trips over the same stunning route in September and November. As ticket fares start at £365, this experience offers a taste of luxury that tantalizes not only the palate but also the imagination, beckoning a crowd eager for glamour and adventure. With its combination of exquisite cuisine, breathtaking views, and captivating entertainment, the Northern Belle is transforming train travel into a celebrity-worthy event. Whether you’re a fan of haute cuisine, a lover of scenic views, or simply seeking an extraordinary experience, this journey embodies the allure of the high life, expertly stitched into the thrilling backdrop of the English countryside.
