Before Gwen Stefani discovered she could write songs, she looked forward to a life of marriage and children. When her brother introduced her to ska and new wave music, it set off a chain of events that would eventually lead to millions of albums sold and a Madonna-sized public image that extended past music and into the worlds of film, fashion, and technology.

No Doubt's 1992 debut album was considered a flop. Gwen next wrote a collection of songs focused on her heartbreak with Tony Kanal and that rebirth would become No Doubt's third album, Tragic Kingdom. The rest, as they say, is history. After their success, Gwen broke off on a solo career. In late 2004, Love.Angel.Music.Baby., hit the shelves with surreal artwork that introduced Stefani's four-woman "posse," the Harajuku Girls. Her success continued with several top hits and she become pregnant in late 2005 and had a son, Kingston.
