Desperate Housewives is set on picture-perfect Wisteria Lane — (one of the houses on the set was the home of Ward and June Cleaver on Leave it to Beaver) —but less than perfect people live there now. Who doesn't want to see what goes on behind those beautiful suburban doors? "Everyone has a little dirty laundry" is not only their tagline - but for real life as well.

Susan (Teri Hatcher) is a divorced children's book author and single mother who is hungry for love (or at least for Mike, played by James Denton); Lynette (Felicity Huffman) left the corporate world to become the mother of four; Bree (Marcia Cross) is the local Martha Stewart, who doesn't have it quite as together as she seems; and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) is an ex-model who has everything she thought she ever wanted. Last, but not least, is Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) - not your suburban garden-variety floozy.
